Discover Islam opened its doors in 1987 in the hopes of looking after so many people who wanted to learn about Islam but had nowhere to go, to do so. A group of brothers sitting on the steps of the Adliya Mosque decided it was time to make sure Discover Islam was the place to find the true essence, meaning, and teachings of Islam, and whoever became Muslim, would be helped to the point where New Muslims would feel like they were integrated into the larger Muslim Society. Some of these brothers now sit in the Board of Directors’ position.
In 40 years, Discover Islam has come a long way in establishing itself as the premium Islamic organization in not just the Kingdom of Bahrain, but in the Gulf region and beyond. Compared to the few tens of people that expressed desire to accept Islam at its inception, Discover Islam was a witness to an exponential rise of people who changed their lives to accept Islam in 2015.
That year also marked a massive restructuring at Discover Islam. The changes were not just to the physical premises but even in the way that Discover Islam approached Da’wah, New Muslim Care, Fundraising, Operations, and other aspects of the functioning of an Islamic organization. These changes inspired results that were never seen before, and Discover Islam had to adapt quickly to meet these results and, in the process, codify its modus operandi. Hence, there is a need for the development of Discover Islam Training Programs.
